This station building is basically a bridge structure given a form of a building. This entire work was already awarded to NBCC, a leading government construction company. However, to expedite the job and to get the railway into Navi Mumbai it was necessary to expedite the project and hence the job was awarded to us through re-tendering. Our scope of work included the pier and deck slab for 50% of the station building area including columns, beams and slab. The total concrete quantity of the project was 5000 cum.

The bigger slab was of the tune of 600 cum each and the smaller of 400 cum each. This entire pour of 600 cum was continuously concreted through manual means as the use of pump or ready mix concrete was not prominent at that time. More than 1000 labors were required in different shifts and the concreting process was more than 3 days at times. The work was completed in time and this structure was inaugurated by the President of India.
