Bridges, Flyovers and Aquaducts

The entire river was a sand bed with min thickness of 1.5 mtr. The cutoffwall had encountered heavy dewatering creating problems for cutoff wall concreting. The problem were so severe that precast concrete wall had to done to execute the works. In certain case wellsinking had to done in rectangular shape of cutoff wall.

The work of the bridge proper was self designed. To enable economies the span was designed as continuous span bridges. Hence 15 mts support span had to be casted as 45 mtrs in one pour.

Normally a bridge is perpendicular to the flow of the river. However this bridge is unique as the alignment is in skew of 65 % to the flow of the river. This skew angle is one of the highest in this part of the region. Hence the normal length of the 7.5 mt road width has now measured @28 mtr at skew length.
